The FEL experiment at IPR was started in the mid 90's in order to look in to the possibilities of generating high power microwave and millimeter wave radiation for possible Tokamak plasma heating applications. Compared to current FEL experiments around the world, this is a very modest system, but nevertheless, it is capable of  throwing light on many aspects of FEL physics.. So this modest, but nevertheless challenging quest continues...
